Ontario Nest Record Scheme Instructions

The basic requirements for participating in the Ontario Nest Records Scheme are an interest in birds, an ability to identify at least some of the birds and their nests in your area, and an interest in contributing to their study and conservation. If you like finding and observing bird's nests, and would like to participate in the scheme, you can download a copy of the manual as well as the summary coding sheet. Nest records cards themselves are not available electronically (they need to be especially printed and numbered for later scanning by computer) but can be requested from the Scheme Coordinator or, if you are participating in the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas, from your Atlas regional coordinator. You also need to register with the scheme, so we can assign you an Observer ID, and keep your current address so we can send you a copy of the annual report (if you are participating in the Atlas, your Observer ID will be the same as for the atlas).
